Our Founder Fr. Carlos Miguel Buela

Our Founder
Father Carlos Miguel Buela, IVE was ordained a Catholic priest on October 7, 1971. From the beginning of his priesthood he worked consistently in youth ministry, with the conviction that the Church takes care of young people not because of tactics but by vocation.

Fr. Buela has written various works, including Jóvenes hacia el Tercer Milenio (1996) (Youth toward the Third Milleniun), which has already been printed five times and was awarded the prize 'Best Book on Religion and Spirituality' by the International Book Fair. He also wrote Catecismo de los Jóvenes (1975) (Catechism for Youth), Modernos ataques contra la familia (1997) (Modern Attacks against the Family), Fátima: y el sol bailó (Fatima: and the Sun Danced), Sacerdotes para siempre (Priests Forever), and a large number of articles published in different magazines.

He founded two religious institutes: the Institute of the Incarnate Word (IVE) in 1984 and the Institute Servants of the Lord and the Virgin of Matará (SSVM) in 1988.  Both institutes are composed of contemplative and active  branches. Both share the same charism: the prolongation of the Incarnation of the Word of God in all the manifestations of the human person. Their specific aim is the evangelization of the culture.  The two institutes have approximately more than 1000 members who are working in missions around the world. Father Buela is currently the Superior General of the male branch. He resides in Segni, Italy.
