Solemnity of the Annunciation
Harlem, New York
March 31st, 2008 marked the Solemnity of the Annunciation and the 24th anniversary of the founding of the Institute of the Incarnate Word (IVE). Members of our Religious Family and parishioners from Washington DC, Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts, and Connecticut celebrated this great feast at St. Paul's Parish in Harlem, NY. His Excellency Thomas Daily, Bishop Emeritus of Brooklyn, who first invited the Incarnate Word priests to the United States, presided at the Mass, joined by more than 25 priests. A reception was held afterwards and members of
our Religious Family put on a show including a group of parishioners from St. Paul's who presented a series of traditional Mexican dances.
We ask our Blessed Mother to continue to shower her graces upon the priests of the Incarnate Word so that as she first brought forth the Word of God on earth, they too might bring Him to us in word and sacrament.
Santa Clara, California
To honor the solemnity of the Annunciation and the anniversary of the founding of the Institute of the Incarnate Word, we at Our Lady of Peace Parish had a special Mass in the evening of March 31st. The main celebrant was Father Walter Mallo with Fr. Jeff Obniski, Fr. Marcelo Navarro, Fr. Hugo Cardenas, and Fr. Jean Marie Baudry concelebrating. During the Mass, twelve people become official members of the Third Order, and they as well as some others made their consecration to the Blessed Virgin Mary. After Holy Mass, we had a feast with the Religious Family. We give thanks to God for these 24 years of foundation and ask the Blessed Virgin Mary to enkindle in our hearts a great love for the Incarnate Word.
