Mother Mary Mother of Mercy McDunnough, our Provincial Superior, and Mother Maria de la Caridad traveled to Guyana from March 3 to March 11, 2006 to visit the places where our sisters plan to found a new mission. The trip included the towns of Charity and Santa Rosa where the Priests of the Incarnate Word have missions. The Mothers visited schools, a lunch program run by the Fathers, a home for boys started by the Fathers, and some of the many churches and chapels. This trip gave the Mothers an opportunity to meet the people of Guyana, to become familiar with the culture and way of life, and to determine what needs to be done in order to start this exciting new foundation.
