Servants of the Lord and the Virgin of Matará

Sister Rosa Mistica in Papua New Guinea

What you have done to the least of these you have done to me...

Bringing Christ to the Ends of the Earth
Sister Rosa Mistica served as a missionary for many years in our Province—in New York, Pennsylvania, Guyana and most recently Toronto, Canada—before being sent to the mission in Papua New Guinea this fall.  Originally from Argentina, Sr. Rosita brings to this new assignment her background in nursing as well as in pastoral care with the sick and homebound.  We congratulate her arrival and wish her all the best in this new mission. May her skills and service be a sign of God's mercy in such a needy place.

Learn about the Mission in Papua New Guinea
To learn more about Papua New Guinea and our mission in this country, please visit our Papua New Guinea Mission page. The www.ssvmonlus.org page which highlights priority mission projects of our community, has a special article and video (4:10 min.) about the "Lujan Home for Girls" run by our sisters. The IVE Fathers who also serve in this Mission field have made a beautiful video about the evangelization of this place where the people have only recently heard the Good News of the Gospel. Follow these links to see the 17 minute film [ English][Spanish]

Please pray for all our missionaries around the world, particularly those in the most difficult and demanding places. The work of evangelization is the work of the whole Church, and those who are not called to directly serve in the missions have a duty to support the missionary activity of the Church, most importantly through their prayers.
