5th Annual IVE Catechetical Conference in Upstate New York

Nearly 70 Catechists from parishes throughout the Province of the Immaculate Conception spent the weekend of September 7th-9th at the IVE St. Patrick Retreat House.  During the weekend, talks were given in both English and Spanish about teaching catechism at a practical level to children and youth.

The weekend also included parish catechetical team meetings which helped the catechists and Directors of Religious Education learn how to work better together and gave them time to develop schedules and to plan retreats, meetings, activities, etc. for the upcoming year.

There were also many other opportunities to build fellowship and community including sports and games, singing and entertainment, and meals together (we were very grateful for all the help and generosity of the youth from the local parishes).

And finally most importantly the weekend began and ended with the Holy Mass. We thank God for this time of growth and offer the upcoming catechetical year to Our Lady.
